Ms. Christina Guinane

Hello My Name Is...

Christina Guinane

Pearce Elementary offers an excellent and comprehensive Special Education Program. We work with all disabilities. We not only work with academic differences, but also behavioral, social, and adaptive. We recognize that some students learn in different ways, at different rates and need individual plans to help them reach their full potential. We offer one on one, small group, and inclusion to help our students grow in all areas of their development. We also have the related services of Speech and Language Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Counseling.
This is currently my 9th year of teaching Special Education. I am very happy to be a part of the Pearce Elementary team. In addition to my bachelors degree in Special Education, I have hundreds of hours of training in various areas, a few of which are Autism, behavior, assistive technology, and differentiate teaching in Math, Reading, and Writing. I believe strongly in being the most effective Special Education Director and teacher and continue to receive professional development on a regular basis.
I started my journey  in the field of Special Education, as a parent of a child with learning disabilities. I understand how worried parents are about their child and how confusing the Special Education process can be. Because I have sat in the seat of the  Special Education parent,  I work hard to make parents feel comfortable and work with them to have complete understanding of paperwork involved, testing results, and plans to help their child become a successful  student. I believe that the parent is the most important part of their child's education. I work hard to communicate with the parent on a regular basis about their child's progress and give them tools to help their child at home. My door, phone, text, and email are always open. Please feel free to contact me anytime.
